Producer Steps Away to Address Worsening Condition
Purple Disco Machine has canceled all scheduled shows through mid-July as he deals with ongoing hearing problems. In a message shared with fans, the producer revealed that he's been experiencing worsening tinnitus and sudden hearing loss over the past few weeks. While he's lived with tinnitus for years, recent issues have made it clear that he needs to step away from touring and focus on recovery.
"Turns out I'm not a machine after all," he wrote, thanking fans for their support and understanding. Doctors have advised him to give his ears the rest they need to avoid long-term damage.
Hearing Health Concerns in Electronic Music
Hearing issues are a growing concern within the electronic music industry. DJs and producers routinely spend countless hours in studios, clubs, and festival environments where sound pressure levels can exceed safe exposure limits. Conditions such as tinnitus, hearing fatigue, and hearing loss have affected numerous artists across genres, bringing greater awareness to the importance of hearing protection and recovery.
The decision wasn't made lightly, especially knowing many fans had plans to see him perform this summer. However, Purple Disco Machine says he hopes to return in mid-July once he's had time to recover properly. For now, the dance music community is sending its support and wishing him a full recovery.
