Wholesome Riddim Takes Center Stage
San Holo has released his fourth album, TRUE LOVE IN A MADE UP WORLD, marking a shift into riddim territory for the Dutch producer and guitarist. After years of crafting emotive future bass and electronica, Holo now explores what he calls "Wholesome Riddim," pairing the bass-heavy sub-genre's aggressive sound design with shimmering, introspective melodies.
He debuted the sound at Excision's Lost Lands Festival in 2024 before launching a headline tour. According to a press release, he immediately started working on new music, which has now arrived as a collection of collaborations with EDM.com Class of 2026 artist AVELLO, bass music producer LSDREAM, and guitarist RJ Pasin, among others.
Standout Tracks Blend Aggression and Emotion
On 'I TRY,' Holo pairs maximalist beats with a narrative about the futile struggle to salvage a relationship. Elsewhere, he teams up with Big Gigantic and Evalyn on the synth-soaked 'BEAUTIFUL COLORS,' charting a story of two souls discovering vivid emotional spectrums that exist only when they are together.
Fall Tour Launches in September
Holo will support the album with an eponymous tour kicking off September 5th in Nebraska. The run includes stops at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles, the Warfield in San Francisco, and the Rooftop at Pier 17 in New York before closing October 17th at Echostage in Washington, D.C. Fans can expect a full new tour production built around the album's world, according to a press release.
TRUE LOVE IN A MADE UP WORLD is available now on streaming platforms.
