Six Arrested in Durham Unlicensed Nightclub Raid

Residential Property Operating as Unlicensed Bar

North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement agents raided an illegal nightclub operating out of a home in Durham's Braggtown neighborhood over the weekend, arresting six people. The operation had allegedly been functioning as an unlicensed bar inside the residence without the required permits, according to NCALE, which said the raid followed complaints of criminal activity connected to the endeavor.

Drugs and Firearms Seized

Agents searching the property reportedly found a number of illicit substances, including cocaine and methamphetamine, along with five firearms investigators said had been hidden throughout its grounds. Those arrested now face felony charges tied to drug trafficking, maintaining the property for controlled substances, and running an unlicensed alcohol operation.

Latest in Regional Crackdown

The bust is the latest in a string of takedowns targeting underground nightlife venues across the Triangle this year, following raids at Blue Vibes in Raleigh in January and La Morena Night Club in Durham in February, both of which authorities linked to prior violence onsite.

NCALE says the investigation remains open and additional charges are possible.
