Skrillex has issued a public apology following technical difficulties that affected the first 30 minutes of his set at Head Trip Festival in Indio, California. The sound quality issues during his highly anticipated day-two performance marked one of several challenges faced by the festival, which took place on the grounds of Coachella.
Producer takes responsibility for set
Taking to social media, Skrillex addressed the situation directly with fans. "My deepest apologies for my set and sound at head trip. I was having a nightmare myself up there and hate how bad that was for everyone in the crowd. No excuses, will take the L and make a lesson of it," he wrote.
The exact cause of the technical difficulties remains unclear, though Skrillex acknowledged the impact on the crowd and expressed disappointment with how the performance unfolded.
Festival faces multiple setbacks across the weekend
Sound issues during Skrillex's set were not the only obstacle Head Trip Festival encountered. Day one was disrupted by weather during Fisher and Chris Lake's performance, forcing organizers to halt the festival and cancel Calvin Harris' scheduled set.
Harris' performance was rescheduled to day two and went ahead without incident. The festival also brought in Peggy Gou as a replacement after Madonna cancelled her appearance.
Despite the turbulence, Head Trip organizers responded to each challenge by rearranging performances and securing replacement acts to keep the weekend moving forward.
