TL;DR

Solomun's Diynamic label has canceled its planned outdoor event in Ibiza, originally scheduled for July 11 at Cantera Can Coix near Sant Antoni. Organizers withdrew the event following opposition from local residents, citing respect for community concerns. The cancellation reflects ongoing tensions on the island between large-scale electronic music events and residents advocating for greater oversight of tourism and nightlife expansion.

“unexpected public response”

Event Pulled After Community Pushback

Diynamic announced the cancellation of its outdoor Ibiza event in a statement shared across social media, describing the decision as difficult but necessary out of respect for the local community. The event was scheduled for July 11 at Cantera Can Coix, a former quarry near Sant Antoni that has occasionally hosted special cultural events.

While organizers did not detail the specific concerns raised, local reports indicate residents expressed opposition to hosting a large outdoor electronic music event at the venue. Rather than moving forward amid the controversy, Diynamic chose to withdraw the event entirely. Ticket holders have been informed that refund information will be provided directly.

A Departure From the Club Circuit

Unlike Solomun's long-running residency at Pacha Ibiza, Diynamic Outdoor was designed to offer a one-day destination event set against the natural backdrop of the former quarry. The lineup was set to feature Solomun, Johannes Brecht (Live), Rafael Cerato, and Aladag, blending melodic house and techno in an intimate outdoor setting that reflected Diynamic's signature sound.

The event was expected to provide a different atmosphere from Ibiza's traditional superclubs, combining natural surroundings with extended daytime programming outside the island's established club circuit.

Tourism and Nightlife Under Scrutiny

The cancellation arrives during a period of increasing discussion about the future of tourism on the island. While Ibiza remains one of the world's premier destinations for electronic music, local governments and residents have become increasingly vocal about addressing issues such as overtourism, environmental preservation, traffic congestion, and noise.

In recent years, officials have introduced measures targeting illegal tourist accommodations, while community groups have called for greater oversight of large-scale events taking place outside established nightlife venues. Promoters are finding themselves balancing world-class entertainment with the concerns of the communities that call the island home.

Although the outdoor showcase has been canceled, Solomun's Ibiza schedule remains otherwise unchanged. The Bosnian-German DJ and producer continues his celebrated residency at Pacha Ibiza, where he has become one of the island's defining artists over the past decade.
