First Middle Eastern Festival in Spatial Audio
MDLBEAST and Apple Music have partnered to release exclusive sets recorded during Soundstorm 2025 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The collection is available worldwide in Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos, marking the first time a live festival collection from the Middle East has been made available in the immersive format.
The collection showcases performances from a blend of international stars and regional talent. Featured artists include Armin van Buuren, Alok, Steve Aoki, Sidney Samson, Omar Basaad, Elfuego, N.A.H, Nikaya, DJ Viva, The Engineers, and Gino & Enzo Ingrosso.
Immersive Playback Experience
Launching exclusively on Apple Music, the sets are available in Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos, creating a multidimensional listening experience designed to replicate the energy of a live performance. Stephen Campbell, Apple Music's Global Head of Dance, Electronic and DJ Mixes, said the goal was to bring listeners as close as possible to the experience of standing in front of the stage.
Listeners using Personalized Spatial Audio with dynamic head tracking on compatible AirPods can experience the mixes with sound that shifts around them, creating a more immersive playback experience.
Preserving Festival Energy
Saudi DJ and producer Elfuego described the release as a way to preserve the memories and atmosphere created during the festival. According to Talal Albahiti, Chief Operating Officer and Head of Music at MDLBEAST, the collaboration is designed to extend the Soundstorm experience beyond the festival grounds and connect audiences around the world with the talent emerging from the region.
The Soundstorm 2025 sets are available exclusively on Apple Music beginning today.
