Spotify Launches Reserved Ticket Access for Top Listeners

By Matt White

Spotify has announced Reserved, a new feature that will allow select artists to offer concert tickets directly to their most engaged listeners. The program launches in the United States this summer through a partnership with Live Nation.

How the Program Identifies Superfans

Reserved will use streaming habits, shares, and fan engagement data to identify an artist's most loyal listeners among Spotify Premium subscribers. Fans selected through the program will receive access to purchase up to two tickets during a 24-hour purchase window.

The company framed the initiative as a response to the current ticketing landscape. "Getting concert tickets today can feel like a race you're set up to lose," Spotify said in a public statement. "Too often, the experience is stressful and unpredictable."

Part of a Broader Superfan Strategy

Reserved is one of several new features Spotify unveiled during its investor day presentation. The company also announced Studio by Spotify Labs, a standalone desktop app for creating personalized playlists, podcasts, and curated content. Separately, Spotify and Universal Music Group revealed a new licensing agreement that will allow fans to create AI-generated covers and remixes using select participating artists.

Spotify did not disclose which artists will participate in Reserved at launch. The feature reflects a growing industry focus on rewarding superfans with exclusive experiences and early access opportunities.
