Amsterdam Dance Event is moving beyond the city's club circuit this year. In a partnership between Schiphol Amsterdam Airport and Martin Garrix's STMPD RCRDS, the festival is hosting a clandestine show inside one of Europe's busiest airport terminals, transforming the transit hub into an underground venue for emerging electronic talent.
A Curated Roster in an Unconventional Space
The lineup reflects STMPD RCRDS' artist-development ethos. Brooks, known for melodic and technically sophisticated productions, joins Julian Jordan, who brings progressive house sensibilities to the bill. Citadelle and Nova Blue round out the roster, representing different sonic territories within contemporary dance music. The three-hour event runs from 20:00 to 23:00, timed to accommodate travelers without disrupting airport operations.
Strategic Programming Meets Underground Intrigue
Schiphol processes millions of travelers annually, many arriving for ADE week itself—music industry professionals, tourists, and international electronic music enthusiasts. By staging an event at the airport, organizers tap into a captive audience of potential listeners who might not otherwise discover these emerging artists. The secret location adds an element of mystery, a nod to rave culture's underground roots executed in one of Europe's most public spaces.
The airport show is part of ADE's broader evolution, expanding electronic music programming into unexpected environments. The partnership demonstrates the festival's continued commitment to unconventional, artist-focused experiences that blur the line between transit infrastructure and creative venue.
