Fans will gather at The Node in Stockholm this Friday, August 28, for a memorial event commemorating the tenth anniversary of Avicii's final performance. Organized by the Avicii Experience, the evening centers on two film screenings that alternate every half-hour throughout the night.
Films Document Final Ibiza and Malmö Shows
The first screening, Avicii – My Last Show, captures the Swedish producer's final DJ set at Ushuaïa Ibiza on August 28, 2016. The second, Exclusive Material From Malmö, presents footage from his last performance in Sweden, which took place August 5, 2016 at Tallriken, an event space within Malmö's Pildammsparken park.
Retirement Followed Years of Exhaustion
Earlier in 2016, Avicii, born Tim Bergling, publicly announced his retirement from live touring after years of grueling schedules, physical exhaustion, and mental health struggles. The decision triggered an immediate restructuring of his professional life, including a split from his longtime management team as he shifted focus away from the global festival circuit toward studio production.
Bergling died by suicide in April 2018 at the age of 28. His legacy has continued through posthumous music releases, fan initiatives, and tributes from his peers. The Node event takes place this Friday in Stockholm.
