More than three decades after its founding, Sónar is overhauling its format for 2027. The festival's 34th edition, running June 17–19, will bring Sónar by Day back to central Barcelona at a new waterfront location, while Sónar by Night returns to a two-night format at Fira Gran Via on Friday, June 18 and Saturday, June 19.
Waterfront Location Reconnects Festival With Its Origins
The daytime festival will take place across all three days at the new waterfront site, reconnecting Sónar with the city where it began in 1994. The location will also host Sónar+D, the festival's conference strand bringing together artists, researchers, innovators and institutions around technology, creativity and research.
At night, four stages—SonarClub, SonarPub, SonarLab and SonarCar—will host performances at Fira Gran Via. The two-night format follows audience demand after previous single-night editions.
First Wave Features Bonobo, Carl Cox and Tokischa
The initial 30-artist announcement spans live performances and DJ sets. Bonobo will present a new show for Distance in Static, with Pierre Claude overseeing stage production. Claude's previous work includes shows for Air, Gesaffelstein and Phoenix.
Tokischa will make her Sónar debut, joined by Yung Lean, Jessie Ware, Frost Children and Cornelius on the live side. Carl Cox returns to the festival for the first time in more than two decades, while Oscar Mulero is back after 20 years. Peggy Gou, KI/KI, Romy and Honey Dijon presents Sinister are also confirmed, alongside Chris Liebing and Speedy J performing together as Collabs3000.
Goldie will perform live after a collarbone injury prevented his 2026 appearance. Job Jobse makes his Sónar debut, with Donato Dozzy & Batu, Aurora Halal, Funk Assault, SALOME, Tash LC, Yu Su and Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith rounding out the first wave.
Sónar Week Expands Across the City
Beyond the main festival, Sónar Week programming will include Sónar District at Parc del Fòrum on Friday and Saturday, as well as Sónar Kids following its sold-out 2026 edition. OFFSónar will run Thursday through Sunday at Poble Espanyol with parties from international labels and club brands.
