T-Pain debuted an unreleased collaboration with the late Oliver Tree during his b2b set with DJ Diesel (Shaquille O'Neal) at Electric Forest over the weekend. The track surfaced on the festival's Tripolee Stage during the annual Bassrush takeover, the festival's dedicated hub for dubstep and bass music.
A Two-Year-Old Collaboration Sees the Light
T-Pain told the crowd the track has been sitting on his hard drive for two years. Built around Tree's vocals, the song culminates in a house drop that brought an uplifting close to the set. "It's time to celebrate life, baby," he said before the drop.
Tree died in a mid-June helicopter crash. T-Pain paid tribute on Instagram shortly after, writing, "Thanks for sharing your art and for always being different in the best way possible. See you on the brighter side."
T-Pain's Bass Music Pivot Gains Momentum
The debut adds another chapter to T-Pain's recent entrance into electronic music under his Teddy Pain moniker. Known primarily as a defining voice of late-2000s and 2010s pop, R&B and rap, he has adopted dubstep production and performance as a serious creative lane.
His first official dubstep track, a collaboration with Sullivan King and Zoey808 called "Push Up," dropped two weeks ago. Prior to the release, he DJed at Excision's Lost Lands festival in 2025 and headlined his first bass show in Atlanta in December.
T-Pain has not announced a formal title or release date for the Oliver Tree collaboration at the time of writing.
