Thomas Bangalter has released a remix of 'Circonvolutions,' a track from his 2023 orchestral album Mythologies, in collaboration with French fashion house CHANEL. The rework accompanies CHANEL's new global Bleu de CHANEL fragrance campaign, directed by Alfonso Cuarón and starring Jacob Elordi.
From Orchestra to Electronics
Where the original was composed for choreographer Angelin Preljocaj's ballet and performed by Orchestre National Bordeaux Aquitaine, the remix pulls the piece into the electronic territory that has defined Bangalter's career, punctuating the orchestral foundation with new depth and dimension. Both versions are available digitally and on a limited-edition numbered 12-inch vinyl EP.
A Busy Post-Daft Punk Calendar
The release lands in the middle of a busy creative stretch for Bangalter. His new album Mirage, a minimalist electronic score composed for a ballet by choreographer Damien Jalet and artist Kōhei Nawa, arrives on June 5th, 2026. That same week, he will soundtrack 'La Caverne du Pont Neuf,' a public art installation by JR that will transform Paris's oldest bridge into a cavern for three weeks.
Later that month, he joins Keinemusik's Rampa and visual artist Julian Charrière for 'Warehouse Artefacts,' an immersive experience at Messe Basel during Art Basel on June 20th, 2026.
