Tomorrowland has always used its MainStage to tell a larger story, and in 2026 that story centers on Consciencia, a world created around human emotion and consciousness. The seven giant faces across the Consciencia MainStage are among its most striking visual elements, each connecting to a deeper part of the theme. Six are tied to Wonder, Joy, Desire, Love, Anger and Sadness, while the seventh, Amutaz, holds a different place within the wider World of Consciencia.
Six Provinces, Six Emotions
The World of Consciencia is divided into six Provinces, each representing one of the primal emotions at the center of the theme. Each one has its own landscape, symbols and visual identity that also appears across the Consciencia MainStage.
Wonder is represented through clouds that respond to the emotions, feelings and thoughts of those around them, constantly changing their form. That connection between thought and environment reflects curiosity, imagination and the way perception can shift depending on what someone is feeling or trying to understand.
Joy is represented through flowers and bees, connecting the Province to happiness, optimism and vitality. The imagery reflects an emotion associated with growth, openness and connection, showing how joy can influence the way people respond to others and engage with the world around them.
Desire appears through birds, wings and feathers, which Tomorrowland connects to aspiration and passion. Their movement toward somewhere beyond the present reflects the nature of desire itself, whether that comes from wanting a person, pursuing a goal or imagining a future that has not happened yet.
Love is represented through butterflies, a symbol Tomorrowland uses to reflect its constantly changing nature. Much like transformation is part of a butterfly's life cycle, love can develop, deepen and take on different forms over time, from attraction and attachment to memory, loss and the relationships that continue to influence how people feel.
Anger is represented through stone and rock, connecting the Province to raw power, honesty and intensity. Instead of presenting anger only as something destructive, Consciencia gives it a deeper role as an emotion that can reveal frustration, hurt, fear or how strongly someone cares about what has happened.
Sadness is represented through sand, deserted beaches and fading colour, creating a quieter landscape associated with reflection and melancholy. The imagery reflects how sadness can change the way the world feels around us, making things seem more distant or muted while also bringing people inward to process loss, disappointment or emotional pain.
The Seventh Face Holds All Six Emotions
The seventh face belongs to Amutaz, known throughout the World of Consciencia as the Grand Visage of Amutaz. Tomorrowland describes it as a legendary carved stone face representing a powerful magical spirit, and its importance extends beyond the MainStage itself. The Grand Visage is named as one of the three central symbols of the Consciencia theme alongside the ascending staircase and the six primal emotions.
On the MainStage, Amutaz occupies the central position and carries every human emotion within, separating it from the other six faces, which each correspond to one individual emotional Province. Instead of representing another emotion, Amutaz brings Wonder, Joy, Desire, Love, Anger and Sadness together within one figure, giving the seventh face a role that reaches beyond any single feeling.
That relationship is also reflected through the staircases and bridges extending from Amutaz into the surrounding emotional worlds, which Tomorrowland describes as pathways through a tapestry of emotions. Their placement suggests movement between emotional states, with no single Province representing a complete person on its own. Someone can experience love alongside fear of loss, anger that comes from hurt, or sadness connected to something they still deeply value, meaning one emotion can lead directly into another or exist alongside it.
The faces across the Consciencia MainStage bring the wider mythology into one visual language, turning emotion into something that can be seen across the stage instead of leaving it only within the story of the six Provinces. The 2026 edition of Tomorrowland takes place in July.
