Seven Tracks, Seven Vocalists
TroyBoi has released FT., a seven-track EP built entirely around collaboration, pairing his 808-heavy production with a different featured vocalist on every cut. The project marks a deliberate shift from his instrumental-driven catalog.
"A lot of my previous releases have been instrumental-driven records, but this time I wanted to build something around featured artists and explore what happens when different voices meet my production," TroyBoi said in a press release shared with EDM.com.
Genre-Spanning Roster
The tracklist spans genres by design. Opener 'Jungle' blends reggae and dancehall over electronic bass with Shiwa, while 'HUSH' pairs Daya's vocals with low-tempo trap production. Malaysian hip-hop and R&B artist Zamaera appears on 'So Much To Say,' and THEY.'s Drew Love joins for 'Picante,' a track that embraces Spanish guitars and orchestral influences.
Intimate Tour Support
This week, the producer previewed FT. live with an intimate release show in Los Angeles hosted by Brownies & Lemonade. He is backing the EP's release with his Hear2Move Tour, a North American run built around smaller venues.
"I hope it shows people the versatility of what I do and inspires even more artists from different genres to create together in the future," TroyBoi said. The EP is available on streaming platforms now.
