TL;DR

LeeLee, 5, and CXRTER, 7, have been certified by RecordSetter as the youngest back-to-back DJ duo by combined age. Performing under the name DJ Faculty Lounge, the pair's combined age at certification was 4,476 days. LeeLee will headline her elementary school's back-to-school night this fall and is pursuing additional records for youngest female DJ to perform at a festival and club.

RecordSetter Confirms the Certification

RecordSetter, one of the largest alternative record-keeping organizations, confirmed the two now hold the record for the youngest b2b DJ duo by combined age. The record was approved this month and RecordSetter sent the family a confirmation email along with a digital certificate bearing the children's names, which their mother, Ashley Lovell, provided to EDMSource. Their combined age at the time of certification was 4,476 days, or just over 12 years between the two of them.

Guinness World Records does not currently recognize b2b DJ sets as a category, according to Lovell. RecordSetter, founded as an alternative to Guinness, has built a reputation for certifying records that fall outside more traditional record books, from feats of speed and strength to lighthearted achievements involving children and pets.

A Shared Taste for the Golden Era

For CXRTER and LeeLee, the record caps a hobby that began less than a year ago. In that time, the two have developed a shared taste in music that skews toward what EDM fans often call the genre's golden era, counting Avicii, Calvin Harris and Zedd among their favorite artists.

The family's rescue cat is named Oliver Treats, a nod to the late musician Oliver Tree, the 32-year-old singer-songwriter who was tragically killed when two helicopters collided over Brazil in June.

Pursuing Additional Records

LeeLee's ambitions do not end with the RecordSetter title. She is working toward two additional records for female DJs that would require recognition from Guinness: youngest to perform at a music festival, and youngest to perform at a club.

LeeLee is already considered among the youngest female DJs in the world, Lovell says. Her family is currently in talks with two festivals, one a major event and one a smaller local show, though neither has been finalized.

Before any of that, though, comes a more modest stage. LeeLee will headline her school's K-6 back-to-school night this fall, marking her public debut as a kindergartner and, for now, the biggest booking on DJ Faculty Lounge's calendar.
