Two Paintings Stolen from Tomorrowland Restaurant During Opening Weekend

Two original paintings commissioned for Tomorrowland's 2026 Consciencia theme were stolen during the festival's opening weekend in Belgium. The artworks, titled 'Love' and 'Desire,' disappeared from the Tomorrowland Restaurant despite security being present in the surrounding area.

Part of Six-Piece Emotional Collection

The stolen pieces belong to a collection of six commissioned paintings, each representing one of the universal emotions that inspired this year's festival theme. The remaining four works—Wonder, Anger, Joy, and Sadness—remain on display inside the restaurant.

Tomorrowland organizers have appealed for the artworks to be returned before the second weekend begins. "We hope the collector who now has these works at home realizes they belong at Tomorrowland, where everyone can enjoy them," said Debby Wilmsen.

Consciencia Theme Explores Universal Emotions

The paintings form part of Consciencia, Tomorrowland's newest creative world exploring six universal emotions through artwork, architecture, and storytelling woven throughout the festival grounds. The commissioned pieces were created as an extension of that concept, giving visitors another way to experience the theme beyond the mainstage.

Over the past two decades, Tomorrowland has built a reputation for elaborate annual themes that weave visual identity, characters, and mythology between each stage. The Consciencia theme is also set to appear at future Tomorrowland festivals outside Belgium.

At the time of writing, Tomorrowland has not announced that the paintings have been recovered or released additional details surrounding the incident. The disappearance leaves the Consciencia collection incomplete for visitors exploring the restaurant during the second festival weekend.
