Taipei producer W2 has returned to Kannibalen Records with a collaboration that pivots hard between genres. Teaming up with fellow Taiwanese artist PUFFcorn, the pair have released "ICED OUT," a single that opens with hybrid trap firepower before swerving into hard techno.
A Track Built in Two Halves
The record opens with a sample-driven intro and sharp, snapping claps that build quickly into a hybrid trap drop loaded with gritty stabs and melodic synth work. Midway through, the tempo and texture shift entirely as the track pivots into a hard techno second drop, changing the feel without killing the momentum.
Rather than forcing two genres together for shock value, W2 and PUFFcorn make the transition sound intentional. The two-part structure gives DJs a track that can bridge hybrid trap energy and four-on-the-floor techno moments without needing to cue up a second record.
Kannibalen's Growing Taiwanese Roster
For W2, "ICED OUT" is the second single from an upcoming EP, following her label debut earlier this year with "STUCK IN MY HEAD," which also opened Kannibalen's Kannibals at the Beach Vol. 5 compilation. The release marks PUFFcorn's first appearance on the label.
Kannibalen Records has built its reputation over the past decade as a home for hybrid trap, dubstep, and bass-adjacent sounds, working with artists like SVDDEN DEATH, Ghastly, and Subtronics earlier in their careers. Bringing in producers like W2 and PUFFcorn continues that pattern of scouting talent from scenes outside the usual North American and European bass hubs.
"ICED OUT" is out now on Kannibalen Records.
