Album Concept and Biblical Inspiration
WHIPPED CREAM, the Canadian producer and vocalist born Caroline Cecil, released HOME WAS ALWAYS ME on April 30 via Monstercat. The album reframes the Biblical figure Eve—traditionally portrayed as a sinner—as an archetype of truth, a woman bold enough to never betray herself. Cecil describes the project as "a modern retelling of an ancient idea that people are not defined by the stories written about them, but by the truth they choose to live."
The album includes lead single 'it's time to go home,' 'stranger' (which landed on Spotify's Viral Top 50 and received spins on SiriusXM's BPM), a Tamia interpolation titled '2 u,' and 'midnight moon.' Cecil has built her reputation on dynamic vocals and house and techno soundscapes across previous EPs Careline (2025), is this real? (2024), Someone You Can Count On (2023), and Who Is Whipped Cream? (2020).
Artist Statement
"People say 'be yourself,' but the moment you do, they project onto you. This album is about choosing yourself anyway," Cecil said of HOME WAS ALWAYS ME. She created the record for anyone who's ever been misunderstood while evolving, aiming to convey that our true selves aren't lost—they're just buried.
The tour will bring the album's boldly cinematic dance music to live audiences for the first time, with Cecil performing new material alongside catalog favorites.
